I believe in a higher order of things and the afterlife. Now whether it is one god or two I don't know. But I do believe a person will be punished for their sins and God is in all of us. Now whether you seek the light is another question.
I am a catholic but do not believe everything about the church's doctrine because the part I have trouble with is that which was created by man. As an example, it is like the Supreme Court of today that bases their decisions on what they think our founding fathers meant and in some cases they do not have a clue. Another example would be women not being able to become a priest. That's nonsense.

fraid we're all self-replicating DNA mate. Yould better read some Richard Dawkins if you want a rational answer.

If you dont want a rational answer, I'm told you just have to believe and then you dont worry. The human capacity for self-deception is astonishing but very effective. Presumably there must be some evolutionary advantage in it (lol)

Sorry about such flagrant agnosticism. Best to keep both options covered I guess - if there is an afterlife make sure you've got a ticket, if there isnt we're all stuffed anyway!

That's a powerful theological question. You'll get as many different answers as there are people. Here's my take:

What we think of as god is life. The real miracle of the world is that anything is born, grows and dies. It's like the force. That thing with goes through all living beings including plants and animals. That's the closest thing I get to believing in god, honoring and worshipping that 'divine spark' in us all. I don't believe in heaven or hell, I don't believe in sin. I believe that there is right and wrong, but that doesn't have anything to do with religion. and I don't believe that god has a plan for us.

Religion is used to rationalize the unexplainable and to provide people with concepts like hope, faith, meaning to life, etc. - a mental crutch, if you like.

When we figure these things out for ourselves, religion becomes less meaningful. And if religion does not respond to these changes (and it usually doesn't) it's advocates start to feel threatened and will try to "fix" people in their beliefs or turn against/upon those who no longer believe.

Catholicism and radical Islam are 2 good examples of what happens when people move on and leave religion behind. But all religions are ultimately doomed to fail, as we find we no longer need the crutch.

A good religion is like a good newspaper - it helps you to think, rather than telling you what to think.

There is ONLY one God. He lives in England, and plays guitar under the name Eric Clapton.

God Bless.

Happy Holidays.

Your god is who you believe in, or if you don't, then it won't matter. Spend some time researching the ancient Greek gods, Roman gods, the real God (Christianity), the Muslim god, the Hindu gods, etc. They vary based on what religion you talk about.

Whatever a person feels about God is good enough for that person. Wether we pity or mock them depends on how we feel about God.

THIS IS "MY" DEFINITION OF GOD

We are all (most of us) are brought up to believe in Fairies at the bottom of our gardens and the tooth fairy. Santa Claus. Knomes, Elve etc etc etc. We are also brought up reading stories about Jesus. If our parents dont tell us we get told about him in school.
As we grow up we learn the truth about faries and santa etc and realise it was all just a big fairy tale to give us something to believe in and dream about.

SO.....................Whose to say that the story of Jesus wasnt just another fairy tale but instead of people growing out of the fairytale they actually believed it and turned it into someone so powerful that people will bow down and worship him?????????? WHOSE TO SAY THIS ISNT HOW IT ALL STARTED OUT?

Who knows and prehaps we will never know
