CALL the animal hospital they will tell you how to stop or slow the bleeding I would assume to run over cold water put like neosporin or vasiline on it to stop the bleeding and dont let you dog walk on it maybe even put a sock on it!!!! Hope everything works out!!!

You can treat an animal almost like you treat a human. The vet will provide you with emergency information when you call. You can even give human medications if needed....to help with the pain. You need to get it cleaned out and to keep it wrapped so that it does not re-open until you can provide the stitches. You also want to keep your dog from chewing at it in pain. The sock and wrapping is a good choice. Tylenol or Motrin can help with pain...but make sure your vet knows the weight of your pet. Good luck. Be careful and I hope the roads clear for you soon.

Depending on how willing your dog is, you can try applying some vaseline to the cut in order to stop the bleeding and keep out dirt. If you have any guaze you can also wrap that around the paw. Good luck.

Can you call a cab or have a neighbor with 4 wheel drive that can take you?

If you don't have anyone that can get you there, call the vet and explain that you can not make it out to them because of the weather....Ask him/her what you can do to protect the injury until you can make it to the vet.
