I have a friend and there is a possibility that we can be more than just friends but at the moment its just on a friendship level. I want to give him a present bcos i'll be seeing him after ages, but i don't want it to be something too obvious or too small. Any suggestions?
P.S. i don't know much about his taste and what he likes, but i don't wanna directly ask him

Don't get him a present that's fraught with all sorts of problems. I'm sure you've thought of quite a few already.

(A good friend of mine I've known 18 years has just bought me the most awful watch I've ever seen, ultra large face in red with thick red plastic strap. He said my face was rosy so he thought a red faced watch would match me! lol Luckily he also bought me a scarf in my fav. colour, he had no idea what I like)

You haven't seen him for a long time? The best thing to do is throw your arms around him and kiss him, as soon as you see him. If he shrinks back (I'm assuming he's a Brit) you haven't got a chance. If he enjoys holding you he will let you know in no uncertain terms. This is the first step.

The second step is to suggest a nice cosy corner to catch up on all that's been happening to you both while you've been a part. Lean in close to him, talk animatedly, smile a lot, accidently touch hands occasionally and if you get good vibes back, then place your hand on his arm in a friendly gesture. If he doesn't make a move after all that flirting there's no chance. Hope it goes well!

Walmart sells little bottle sizes of popular cologne for men. They are usually around $12. I would pick one that smells good, put it in a gift bag, and give it to him as a gift. They have Cool Water, Drakar, and many more. That way he will smell good when he is around you and it is a little bit more personal yet not too touchy feely. I would get this gift size instead of the larger bottle for a couple reasons, one is that it is cheaper and two he can try it out and if he wants he can buy himself a bigger bottle and maybe even a different scent.

Buy him a cd or a t-shirt, jus a plain one all one colour if you're not sure about his taste. What about a game for his xbox or playstation? All blokes r into dem now aren't dey? Failing that go 4 aftershave or something simple. Good luck chicks!!! x x x

We would find a piggy bank and paint it in the colors of the guy's car. After all he picked his car and usually that is his favorite thing. It was impersonal but kinda niffty that we thought of him. I say 'we' as this was in college and we would just find someone who seemed kinda lonely and different and stand offish. We would paint the designs on his bank as wishes for him. Silly, but it made the guys rather happy. Enamel paint. We also made our gifts. We didn't buy. That way they didn't have to go out and buy for us at the last minute. We made it so that they knew we took the time to be personal.... just for them. Guys love banks. Silly but they do.

If you don't know what he likes too much, get him a gift card for a store he likes! Maybe for $20. Than he can pick out what he wants and it isn't too obvious.
