Yes but I love to buy gifts. It's all the joy for me. I don't care if I don't get anything.

Yes things are getting more expensive each year! Its the electronics. I have been very tempted to spend way more money than I should for my 3 year-old, but, my conscience caught me after I was able to obtain a hard to get toy for my daughter, and seeing the other people pay almost double for it, just for Christmas; it really snapped me back into reality. I'm actually considering taking a few things back and putting some of the money in the bank to open an account for her; something that I've been thinking of doing since earlier this year, or taking a portion of the money to visit the old folks home near out house to give gifts to seniors without families in our area.
I'm not the best mommy in the world; I have my flaws, but I don't want to fail at being a good, responsible person.

I AGREE WITH YOU! Before when I use to ask my parents for a Christmas present it was stuff like Barbie dolls, games, etc. Now, they want WII,Laptops, Playstation 3, cell phones, etc. I am so broke at the end of Christmas Season it is not funny! Yes, things have definetely changed!

Yes. It's mostly pressure to follow Holiday tradition and to make friends and relatives happy. You don't want to be looked upon as cheap. Most stores take advantage of this despite the illusion of Big Sales. We still end up going broke and having to play catch up with our Tax Refund. It's a vicious cycle.

I agree with you. Christmas is a wonderful time, but the true meaning of Christmas is totally overshadowed by all of the commercialism.

A lot of people aren't as frugal as they once were. They want to get a lot so they give a lot. Not me! I don't give much, but I don't get much either. That's fine with me.
