why would you be drinking and smoking if you are trying to conceive? That seems awfully strange to me. And yes it can have an impact on your conceiving.

drinking and smoking can delay the pregnancy, but also you are trying quit trying it seems that whenever ppl are really trying it doesnt happen just act like whatever happens happens, it took me 2 years to get pregnant without any protection also if you were on some kind of birth control before you started to try to have a baby that can also be the reason why nothing is happening, also if your trying to have a baby you shouldnt be drinking anyways good luck and congrats when it happens it could just not be your time either

You really REALLY need to not be getting pregnant. Not with your boyfriend, and especially not when you cant stop drinking and smoking to ensure a healthy baby.
Dont be so irresponsible.
And for the record, it can take healthy young couples 12 months or better to get pregnant.
But you seriously need to not be trying. If you cant do whats best for your body and the baby before its here, what makes you think you will think anymore of it once you're pregnant? You will only find more excuses.

hi there... im also in the same position as you me and my fiance have been tryin now for a year or more...i also feel scared as well although i was pregnant 2 years ago but unfortunately my son died 6 weeks after he was born.. i went to my doc the other day and asked him bout this..have to go back to him in 2 weeks to get tests done to see if im ovulatin,, why not go see your doc... smokin and drinkin can be a factor in all couples tryin to concieve.. my partner and i are both smokers and occassional drinkers. my advice to u is keep tryin dont give up but dont obsess about it.stress is a common factor as well in not concievin...u know it takes most normal couples up tp 2 years to concieve.... take your mind of it and try think like if it happens now then great but if it takes a while- believe me its well worth the wait...good luck

A large percentage of the population probably wouldn't be around if it weren't for alcohol and sex! You probably should start taking better care of your body though to prepare for pregnancy. Take folic acid. That will help prevent neural tube defects, try to avoid alcohol and caffeine and try to give up the ciggarettes. You may want to have your doctor check you out and if you haven't already get a book (Taking Charge of Your Fertility) or do some on line research to educate yourself on tips for conceiving. Good luck.

Yes. If you want to have a baby you need to stop smoking and drinking immediately. Smoking leads to constricted blood vessels. For men, this means weaker emissions. For women this means eggs that will not implant because there is insufficient blood supply in the uterus. If you want to have a baby, you need to treat your body as though you are pregnant. Increase your folate and other essential vitamins, and most importantly, stop smoking.

Yes, the first thing that RE's ask is if you drink or smoke. That can cause male and female infertility and low sperm count. I would suggest you quit doing both since you are TTC, because if you do become pregnant that is not good for the baby.

Well theres your problem, Don't smoke or drink, its been probably killing your baby. sorry for sounding harsh but it is the truth. If you hant a happy and healthy baby, don't smoke or drink, if you do, your child will get your habits, do you want that? I don't think that you do.

I have one child and me and my fiance have been trying for 6 months now to have another. I went to the dr and they said to enjoy sex and dot worry about getting pregnant. Stress is a factor. I know it is dissappointing but dont think about a baby and just enjoy the sex...

huge factor. Drinking reduces your chance of getting preggo as well as smoking. If you really want it then any doc would tell you to stop smoking and drinking, and your chance will increase.
