The 18 years olds are not drinking so nothing should happen to you. They can legally go into bars and watch other people getting drunk so you're drinking by itself isn't affecting them. They are not minors in need of adult supervision so you're not shirking parenting duty (if you ever had any).

HOWEVER, if you are drunk and they get hurt in your house you might be liable as much as you would be with any adult guest.

Are you saying that there are gonna be 18 year olds drinking or that others of legal age will be drinking in front of 18 year olds? If thats the case-if its only that others are drinking in front of 18 year olds then you shouldnt have any problems. The only thing is if the cops show up they arent gonna believe it, they are gonna run you in anyways and say that the 18 year olds were drinking regardless if they were or not.. Plus the fact that it would be hard to supervise those who are underage-to make certain they are not drinking. If its gonna be a party with just a few beers i wouldnt worry much about it, but if its gonna be a larger thing with alot of drinking i would try to keep anyone under 21 out.

If there is underage drinking technically the cop can charge you and your boyfriend with 1 count of distributing alcohol to minors for each minor who is present. I was at a party years ago where there were only 2 people over 21 and the cop was very clear in explaining this to us. Thankfully the cop was very nice and left with just giving us a stern talking to.

Since it is your house you can be charged with providing alcohol to underage drinkers. Most likely results in fines if it is your first offense. The other issue is if the underage drinker gets in trouble or causes an accident and they tell the cops they got it from you, you could get into some trouble that way.

Your best bet is to not invite underage drinkers or have no alcohol. If you want to than you need to id everyone and tag underage drinkers. If you catch them with a beer you take it away and throw it out.

It is not worth the legal issues you'd have to go through in order to throw the cool party

I would think it would depend. If they are drinking then chances are pretty good you'd have a problem, contributing to the delinquency of minors. However, if they are not drinking, then my guess is there is little trouble you could get into. Bars allow 18 year olds in, mostly women for no cover, and they don't get in trouble, so one would think with this party it shouldn't be a problem if they were to not drink.

You could get fined for contributing to minors and half to pay money for each minor. make sure that you are not to load for people to call the cop they dont just show up. Be careful if you do have the party.

If the 18 year olds arent drinking, then it's not a problem.

Also depends on the state laws. In Texas, a minor can drink alcohol as long as their parent is present.

Will you be allowing the minors to drink? or have you set some strict policies for those who are under age at your party?

It's your choice if you want to find yourself in a huge amount of trouble. Or you can be the ADULT and tell them NO! Just stick to your guns.

It depends on the laws where you live, but you're most likely going to be in more trouble than it's worth. Underage drinking is a crime and, as an adult, it is your responsibility to keep underage children from having access to alcohol. I would advise you to avoid the situation entirely.

You'll be arrested for providing alcohol to minors. It's that simple. Why in the hell would you risk it, especially if those teenagers are going to be driving home? Get some friends your own age.
