cannot and here is why: The concept of objectivity has always been somewhat ambiguous, and both journalists and the public tend to identify objectivity in its absence. Few journalists would make a claim to total neutrality or impartiality. However, most strive toward a certain modicum of detachment from their own personal biases in their news work. In Discovering the News (1978), sociologist Michael Schudson argues that "the belief in objectivity is a faith in 'facts,' a distrust in 'values,' and a commitment to their segregation." In the United States, an objective story is typically considered to be one that steers a middle path between two poles of political rhetoric. The tenets of objectivity are violated to the degree to which the story appears to favor one pole over the other.

If it is money that is doing the talking or just inside trades, will suing another really stop the word slinging for all times?. If not than suing is a useless action and can only serve to transfer funds from one bank account to another and for what purpose of good to humanity would that serve? Just ( talk) save the money and use your wits and breath.donate the funds if you pursue the action. give money back to the public domain and really benefit the poor and needy in the country. ( opinion).

Bill O'Reilly is not engaging in any conduct which would give rise to a suit in defamation. I have only watched Bill O'Reilly a few times, but he seems like he is semi-literate and, I don't know how else to put it, a doofus. Why would anyone care what he thinks anyways?

It wouldn't work. What would they sue him for? Libel? It's free speech and for the moment, at least, it is still a Constitutional right. Also, the demicruds have plenty of hacks on their team too. Both parties suck and have lost any semblance to representative government.

Yes, but then the Republicans would sue the democrats for labeling them as mean Nazis.

Do that and you give him credibility. Its not hard to spot a jackass when he isn't even trying to hide it. No one who didn't already believe it beforehand will believe it afterwards. And if the person is crazy enough to believe him after hearing it, they were already out of their minds before they started watching. Let it go.

It's called freedom of speech. You know, that's the thing that democrats use when they refer to our President as a chimp.
