It has been flucutating heavy and light for the past 2 months. It slowed down a whole lot last week and stopped for a day (no bleeding, just clear discharge junk) and so I thought it was finally over, then yesterday it came back on strong and now it's going so heavy I'm changing my pads every hour or so!!
It's being so sparatic, and lasting so long! What could be wrong!??

Also, I am 16, and have been having my period for the past 4 years. It's never been "regular" but it has always lasted for around a week once a mouth. Now it's just... it keep coming and coming! What to do??!??!

You absolutely HAVE to get to the Dr's office! It could be several things causing this, but you can bleed to death! I almost had to have a transfusion when this happened to me! I had a cyst holding my cervix open and that's why I kept bleeding. I know you don't want to, but it is necessary for you to go as soon as you can! Good Luck!

It's not unusual for teenagers to have irregular periods. The body takes a while to settle into the proper cycles. But having your periods for such long stretches at a time means something is not right. You really need to see a proper gyneocologist, not just an ordinary doctor. There could be a hormornal imbalance or some other problem. You are young, so probably not confident enough to question a doctor's diagnosis, but you must insist they keep doing tests till they find out what's wrong and not just give you some pills and send you away. Losing so much blood all the time will leave you tired from lack of iron, and makes your social life pretty miserable too. Good luck.

Honey, tell your mom and have her make you an appointment with a gynecologist. You could have endometriosis or just a hormonal issue that's causing you to keep going like that... or you could have a bleeding disorder of some sort.

You really need to just have a doctor check you over... not a bunch of us Yahoos on Yahoo.

Tell your mom... and best to you... try not to worry too much, it's probably something that can be easily straightened out with the proper medical attention.

Are you on birth control? Sometimes if the Rx is not the right level for you, it can cause some of the problems you're describing. I would recommend you go see a gynecologist right away. Good luck.

Sweetheart, if you havent told your mother already you need to do so, and then you need to go and see a gynecologist! 2 months is too long. You might need to be put on birth control in order to regulate your period. Best of luck!!

Get into your gynecologist quickly as this isn't normal. You may need to undergo a D&C, which is usually helpful.

Best of luck and keep taking multivitamin pills as your Iron levels will be low due to the amount and frequency of blood loss.

You need to go see your OB/GYN, it could be a number of things that are making you go this long on your period and you really should not wait. Weather your still bleeding or not call the doctor. To many things can be wrong.

I would get it checked out soon as - it could be a cyst or a polyp, and maybe if you leave it untreated then you could become infertile when the time matters. You will also be very anaemic if your not sorted . Good luck

I have had this before---and for me, it was fibroid cysts. You really need to see a doctor. It ended up being a surgery for me. If possible, you need to get other treatments before a surgery is necessary. Good luck.

my mom had something like that. you may need to get on birth control. call your doctor.

Also, it probably is your uterus that keeps building up tissue which will give you a larger and longer flow, you may need a d&c to get the piece out.
