Sometimes finding the perfect gift is impossible and what may seem perfect to u might not to them. Take what u know about the person and use it! Anyone who knows me knows this: Im a huge bubble bath and candle freak- every night I take a candle lit bubble bath before bed! They also know I love to read and watch scary horror flicks. So take what u know about them and go for it. if u only know their favorite color is purple- get them a nice pair of purple comphy jammies or a lb of all purple jelly beans! Take what they like and get a calendar- that they will use all year long. A gift card to their favorite fast food joint so during the week lunch is on you! Its ALWAYS the gift from the heart that means the most! Merry Christmas!

I think the thought does count but I always like to give a gift that a person will appreciate. If I can't do that then a gift card or tucking in the reciept so the peron can exchange for what they would like. I don't think that is tacky as no one wants a closet full of unusable gifts.
