I got out of the shower this morning, and I saw this spider hanging from the ceiling. It looked bigger when it was alive. Anyone know what it was? http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4307157

It looks like a "jumping spider". They're quite harmless and I see them all the time.

Probably a jumping spider, from the way it looks and the fact it was hanging from the ceiling. See link, scroll down.
Jumping spiders are the only ones that freak me out a little because if you move your hand toward them they spread their front legs and come at you a little, instead of running. Plus they jump.

It looks like one of the common jumping spiders,
Phidippus audax. It is essentially harmless, though
some people react somewhat with a little pain if
bitten by one, like a mild bee sting. They are among the few spiders with good eyesight, and
will often follow your movements visually if you
move your hand near them.

I live in Texas & have seen a lot of these spiders over the years but all I really know about them is that they are not poisnous to humans. I won't say they're harmless because if you dislike/scared of them (as my oldest daughter is) no spider is Harmless!!
