This is the best way to do it and it gives you pictures so you can't go wrong.

Do you want to delete your downloads as well? If not, then remove your downloads file from the mydocuments/EAgames file. I usually drag it onto my desktop, depending on how big it is, it may take a few minutes.
All you need to do now is uninstall everything. You can do that through your start menu, choose uninstall.
Now you have to reload the game and expansions in the order that they were made.

go into My Documents on ur pc and there should be a folder with all ur saved games and files or something like that in it just delete the whole thing

Maybe you can try reinstalling.I have tried that with other games and it's worked. I just don't know if it will work with the Sims 2 though and on your computer.
