In the USA the PharmD degree requires four years of professional study in a College of Pharmacy, similar to Medical School. There is a big demand for pharmacists, so the graduates of these schools get very high paying job offers. The great jobs prospect means that the admissions to the schools has gotten very competitive. In our local school last year they had over 1000 applications from good students for 90 seats.

The program is very difficult with lots of chemistry and advanced biology and medically oriented courses. You have to be good at math.

Kids who earn Pharm Ds can work in community or hospital pharmacies, nursing homes, hospital clinics, or research faciltities, or as researchers with drug companies and as sales professionals with drug companies... There are all kinds of interesting jobs....

It doesn't have very prosporous career. Not much money or fame is there. You can just earn hand to mouth. But if you want to explore your knowledge and not worried about money then yes, you will have lot to learn.

But then why d.pharma.....somethings are definately better than that and you know...

Thanks
