My daughter had the same thing! She was taken out by vacuum extraction, and had a huge scab that did come off on it's own. It actually peeled off while i was washing her hair one day -- don't try and get it off before it's ready, or it will bruise again.
Addition: do not be frightened by people on this site suggesting that you seek medical attention. Geez....the scab is caused by the vacuum and will fall off on its own. Nothing to worry about.

The scabs have nothing to do with the vaccuming. It's just the skin on her scalp coming off if she is a very young baby (less than 5 weeks old). When you do give her a bath, make sure to very gently smear baby oil on her scalp and soak it in for 10 mins before you wash with baby shampoo. Use a very very soft brush to brush back what little (or lot?) hair that she has. She'll be fine. Not to worry :-)

Scabs always come off on their own. Thats their design and function.

They did the same thing to my son, just leave his head alone and they will fall off on their own.

check with her pediatrician...we can't see or diagnosis whatever it is. my last child was born with the aid of a vac, and nothing was on her head.

You should seek a doctor because they would know what to do about this case. Dont try out anything on your own from anyone. its your child.....

yes i wouldn't pull them off, and if you wash her hair that will also help loosen it up. but if they dont contact your doctor and see what you can do.
