Richard "Dick" J. McDonald and Maurice "Mac" McDonald who for better or worse lent their names to the eponymous fast food chain that has spread its tentacles all over the globe.
Their main rival in the global domination stakes has to be Microsoft's Bill Gates - all three men have had a huge influence on the planet today and their presence is felt just about everywhere.
Pamela Anderson is a naturalised Canadian by the way, and Albert Einstein, good choice that he is, was German by birth, and eventually held dual Swiss and US citizenship.
Inventor Thomas Edison is a good choice though, but what's all this George Bush nonsense (either of them!) and as for choosing rap stars, sporting legends or Hollywood stars, this question only goes to prove how few truly great Americans there have actually been! I could think of loads of great Scotsmen for example - Alexander Graham Bell gave us the telephone, and John Logie Baird the television. As regards Americans I am honestly struggling, no wonder so many of your sights are so low!
