I have owned my Sprint MM8300 for awhile now and have never had an issue. Today, my battery was low so I turned my phone off. When I turned it back on, the normal screen came up, but in the upper left hand corner it displayed "Phone Off". I tried restarting my phone several times, but it still said this (even after charging it). I finally tried to make a call and it popped up saying "You can not make a call while phone is off" and gave me the option to turn it back on. My question is why it said this "Phone Off" to begin with? This has never happened before and I want to know what I pressed to get that. I went through the whole owners manual and there is nothing mentioned. Any ideas??

lol means that your phone is on airplane mode (cannot make calls) mm i have the same model..help u..go on settings...then on others...first option is going to be airplane mode: has to be off...if it's on, then turn it off...that should do it...happy holidays

Do me a favor, try plugging the phone in, while it is charging, take the battery off. put it back on and turn the phone on. Then try making a call while it is charging. If it still doesnt, that might mean you have gotten a small amount of water on the bottom part of the phone where all the circuitry is at. Also take the battery off the pfone and look to see if there is any smudges that are a red or pink color, or an ink color. That should tell you if the phone got wet. But, like I said, if it is only a small amount then that wont even show up on the ink. The cell phone companies put water marks on the back, and when the phone gets wet it busts. I had the same thing happent to a phone of mine and it was because a drink sweated in my cup holder and leaked over to the other holder where my phone was, and it did the same thing. But it didnt show up on the water mark either. hope that will help a bit!

Phones typically have 3 modes: On and able to receive/make calls, On, but just enough to control charging; the radio and all the electronics to make and receive calls are shut down, and Off. When you plug in your phone to be charged, even if the phone appears off, it is still powered up to run the software which controls the charging of the phone. If you run your battery VERY dead and try to turn it on, you can glitch your phone into a different mode sometimes. It sounds to me that your phone got stuck in the charging software mode. Usually if you completely remove the battery and put it back on, things return to normal.

Try removing the battery for 10 seconds and put the battery back in the phone if all fails call Sprint Tech Support and tell them the problem

Hello Autumn, This problem has no fixes as flashing phones cause many problems in the phone's software that is non-restorable, I suggest getting a new phone. -Pr

it is probably something wrong with your battery, i would take the battery out and put it back in and if that doesnt work i would calll the sprint company

I think it is probably broken..........ur best bet is to bring it into a sprint store and see what they have to say about it :)
