I've never played Runescape, but from what i hear, its basically a rip off of WOW...
But you tell me, I hear Runescape mentioned a lot more than WOW...
I know from personal experiences the WOW monthly charges suck.

Runescape is kindof a poor mans WoW! To ANSWER your question! It was made before WoW, so it isn't a rip-off exactly, or at all! The WoW charges are probably annoying, I wouldn't know! I do know that it is only $5 or so for a membership in runescape, which is NOT forced! This membership only unlocks better things! The graphics of Runescape aren't that good because it isn't a full-on game, that installs on your hard drive! It is a simple java based game! I have played WoW for a short time at a friends. It was pretty fun and I got addicted but never bought it! Simply because Runescape fulfilled my needs for free! Runescape does have a point to it! It is to build up your skills! or to meet new people! or to meet some of your friends in an online place! or anything you want it to be!

Nah, Runescape is a lot older than WoW and can run smooth on a low connection and a low end pc as opposed to WoW. Runescape can be played for free unless you would want some really hot items and quest in the game, where as you have to pay for WoW to get started. I wouldn't say that Runescape is a rip off of WoW as it is much older and I believe WoW is a modified rip off of Priston Tale http://eng.pristontale.com

No, it's just for people who'd rather be frugal about paying monthly fee's and/or those who's compuiter can't handle very high graphics.
There is nothing wrong with being frugal, especially when there are many other things in your life that require lots of money.
Oh, yeah, and Runescape has been around longer then WOW so it's definetly not a rip off...

Runescape is older than World of Warcraft, but very similar. You design your person then go wandering around doing quests and getting skills. Runescape is free but if you become a paying member you get access to more stuff, like better weapons and armour.

I would Consider Runescape a ripoff of WoW ... but Runescape was designed before World of Warcraft. so theres really no comparison. World of Warcraft obviously had more money and more experianced game designers backing it. but even they admitted to alot of mistakes, as it was their first ever MMORPG.
WoW is based off the MMORPG craze that is hitting online gamers like a storm. aswell as Runescape, and thousands of other MMO's out there.

Runescape is way older than WOW though. I think it started 6 years ago or so.

No, real life is a good place to meet guys. Do you really want to get into the drama of "internet dating"? Anyway, there's no point in playing World of Warcraft if you're just using it to meet people. It's an RPG, not a social networking site.

YES it is a rip off of W.O.W!!!!!! i just realized that! thank you for telling me what exactly a horible game Runescape is! it has TERRIBLE graphics, the very point of the game is just strange! and you can't go off and adventure without doing a stupid, lame-a*s tutorial and completeing missions that allow you to do something in Runescape! OH! but in W.O.W. though, you can do ANYTHING YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention, once again, the graphics on Runescape are cr*p.

If I do any more MMORPG it would be Runescape, price is rfight and its basically social networking with a few laughs and fun gameing involved, like Diablo (no number) or Counterstrike.
