I have a 98 Chevy c1500 with a 4.3 v6. I just changed all my gaskets on the upper end and all is well, I also just had to replace the fuel pump and it starts up fine and runs well, but I am trying to figure out why the fuel pump will not shut off after I kill the engine. I woke up this morning to a dead battery after installing the new pump last night. Could it a bad fuel pump relay switch?

it sounds like its got continusity juice all the time.change the ignition switch,or if you like, you can install a kill switch in the hot wire, then it will make it theft proof lol.dont mean to laugh, but if everything else fails, that would work.

it's your fuel pump relay. I've seen it many times. Change it, and your problem should go away.
