As I watched his press conference, I was reminded of Mel Gibson's new film, APOCALYPTO, which I saw recently. There is a scene in the movie when severed human heads are rolling down the steps of a Mayan pyramid as sacrifices are being made to the Gods. Is there any real difference between our culture and that one?

Is it possible that stupidity might be in the eye of the beholder? Ad hominem attacks indicate a lack of reasoned arguments which add anything positive to a discussion.

No. Does anyone every question how the greatest superpowers got to be that way? By goodness? I mean even GOD hasn't won that war yet...

The sad part about all this is that Bush created the very thing he set out to put a stop to..ie he wanted control but he's nowhere near that target...and there is no backing out...it's like a huge dam breaking...with new holes forming and everyone trying to stick a finger in every new hole that's punched out. That is what this war is now and will likely forever more be. Does this mean that the sacrifices will never end? That is likely what it means. And now the whole world has to be dragged into fighting that war.

I feel sorry for Americans because you're as much a victim as all the innocents in Iraq and Afghanistan who wanted nothing but to live in peace....even if that peace was at a price of a tyrant governing thier country. What have they gained from this war? Everlasting insecurity....the same as Americans and now the rest of the world.

Bush and all the other idiot politicians should send their children over there. The ruling class is so quick to send other people's kids over there, but never there own. The US needs a new way and neither the republicrats or demicruds will get us there. There both sell outs and don't give a rats but about the people they supposedly serve. Take your pick, the warfare or welfare party - either way the gov gets bigger and we get smaller.

I'm here already....

The 'sacrifices' he speaks of are in monetary values not in human life. The lack of resources is what we find limits our ability to protect ourselves and get the job done.

Give us the resources and the ability to bring this to the real targets and we'll get the job done sooner.
