Since it's your godson buy his mom a case of diapers, that would take some stress on the mom. A nice outfit can't hurt or a swing.

Well, since you are the Godparent, you could get him a Children's Picture Bible. For my Godson's first Christmas I got him a child's Cross for his room. Then it was toys until he got old enough to understand. Then I got him the picture Bible. Now I'm back to toys until he makes his First Communion.

He might be a little too young for toys. . .if anything I'd say get him a nice stuffed animal - something without small parts because he'll probably be chewing an it soon enough. . .if you get a teddy bear, make sure to get one where the eyes aren't beads and nothing can be ripped off it. That's if you don't want to get him toys though. . He might be too young for the picture bible, although thats a nice idea. . .I'd go with clothes because he's so young. . .maybe a cute bib that says something funny?

Usually aroud this time of year at Wal-mart you can find pacture frames in the shape of crosses for the babies room ,put a picture of the two of you in it. It's a gift that he will probably keep forever. It shows how much you love him and as he gets older I think pictures in their rooms comfort babies especially if they are familiar faces.

Okay so Chloe beat me to it. Savings bond in the child's name. A no-sew fleece blanket, simple to do, can purchase a "kit" in a fabric store such as Joanne's or in WalMart.

Trust me, the kid has no interest in Christmas. New outfit, small toy for him to hang onto, like plastic keys for babies. $25. savings bond maybe.

If you want something for the child, make it warm and snuggly - a stuffed animal. At that age, they are into touch.
