He sees that you're already puckered.

It really depends on what he means by kissing. If you are the kind of person who kisses him a lot in public, it could just be that this is a formal dinner where that sort of thing isn't appropriate. Not everyone likes to see couples all over each other at a social function!

It just means that he didn't feel it would be appropriate for you two to start kissing in public at a company function. I don't think there's anything wrong in what he said. Not everyone is comfortable with public displays of affection, and a company party is not the place to show them.

Sounds like he's kinda embarassed by you. I'd be mad too - especially if you already don't kiss him in public. It sounds like a rotten thing to say. I think I would want to sit down and talk to him about it. This might help you understand why he said it and may make you feel better.

Hope this helps!

He's nervous, and to vent his anxiety he asks you not to 'make a scene' with PDAs. It doesn't mean anything, most likely, but you could get back at him by not kissing him for a week, forcing him to make the first move.

If you do this allot in public, that may have been the reason. He may have been afraid you would do it at the party also. Which you should not do that at a party. Keep it for the home or bedroom.

He's uncomfortable with PDA (Public Displays of Affection)?

PDA is not appropiate in a company function. Don't take it personal, but certain things should be done behind close doors.

Good luck

He doesn't want his girlfriend to see that. Because he has told her that things are bad at home and you never pay attention to him. (that's worst case scenario) or it'll just embarass him (best case scenario)
