Because this country doesn't seem to give a damn how many chemicals they put in the beer and how badly made it is. They just want to make a shed load of money. On the continent going out for a few drinks is a whole different ball game. They generally don't go on benders and binge drink. They value how the beer tastes, which is definitely a hell of a lot better the here!

Well, that's one (of the only few) that's Belgium proud on is, The Beers and there here the best in the world , believe it or not try it out for your self. And many friends of UK will tell that also (because they import their beer from Belgium).
Now your question: it's because here in Belgium they still use the old brewery methods and less chemicals then in other countries
Cheers!
By the way, we not only produce here lagers but also the other beers the most in the world!

Not sure I agree. Theakston's Old Peculiar is superior to just about any beer I have tasted. Any S&N 80 shilling is a great beer. The beers in Germany all taste pretty much the same.

I AGREE. Ok. So technically I suppose, it's not really beer but lager. It is usually served very cold when you are very hot. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun, looking out over the sea supping a frosted glass of cold beer (lager). CHEERS.

Naah, a lot of it is actually brewed and bottled in th UK don't forget.
If you prefer continental beer, fine. But I'm not sure it is any better, just stronger.
