why computer don't read some dvd's(games-max paine,dead to rights) even though it is a new dvd drive?

check the region section in properties

The CD may be damaged or it may not be compatible to that dvd drive .

may be your pc doesn't have the requirements like 3d graphics card or may be the RAM size is small.
