I found out with my son (1st pregnancy), but I left it till the end with my two daughters.
Really the way I figure it, there are so few surprises in life anymore. And my husband really thought it was just terriffic to announce the sex of our babies.
All that aside. I have now had two friends been told what they were having, and the ultrasound tech was wrong. The peewees can hide!!!

I did choose to know the sex of my child before birth. I had a feeling that I was having a boy up until the time that the Ultrasound tech told me that I was having a boy. Since I was preparing the nursery and other stuff for the baby, I wanted to know what the gender was. Plus I am not a big fan of yellow and looking at pale green for any longer than necessary makes me nauseous, I decided to find out.
As it was, I ended up choosing blues in denim shades, that would go either way in case the Ultrasound doc was wrong.

I did - and am glad I did. We thought it would be a boy anyway (practically no girls on my hubby's side), and it was a boy. It is nice when you know because apart from getting the right clothes, you can begin to visualise in your mind what the baby would look like, as well as start talking to him/ her by the name, as opposed to calling the baby 'it'. If I had another baby though, I wouldn't ask, just would assume that it would be a boy (I already have the clothes so wouldn't need to buy any), but if it was a girl it would be a pleasant shock and I'd be down the shopping centre straight from the hospital!

I did. I really really wanted a girl and I knew I would be disappointed if I had boys, but I also knew I wouldn't be disappointed for long. I found out before they were born so I would have time to get over it. I didn't want the first few minutes of my baby's lives tainted by my disappointment. I have 3 sons, and I love them all. I may try again for a girl, but I don't have any regrets about knowing they were boys before hand.

I did with the first, becuase I wanted to know what color to paint the baby room and what color stuff to ask for the baby shower. I find it more helpful to get boy stuff if your having a boy instead of girl stuff that you can't use.
I'm currently in my second trimester with my second child and my husband and I are talking about not finding out this time. We haven't decided for sure, but we are thinking about it. Thought it might be fun to do this time around.

I knew I was having a boy, the sonographer told us by accident at my scan but it didn't matter because I was right! I think this one is going to be a girl, I don't know how but when I think about the baby I just instantly think of a girl and can't think of a boy at all. I was the same with my first except I could only think of a boy and when ever I tried to contemplate a girl a voice in the back of my head just kept saying 'you know it's boy' it's weird but just how it is with me!

we chose to find out the sex of our baby as i thought it was a boy and hubby thought it was a girl. he was right, i was miffed that i was wrong but very pleased. We also had a 4d scan of the baby which was great and it showed that we were having a girl as normal scans are not 100% correct.

I don't, just for the simple fact that it is the only true surprise in life. I can see the benefits of finding out in advance and being prepared for either a boy or girl, but I liked waiting.

The sex of my baby was known at 11 weeks cause I had to have a CVS. So yes I asked the dr so I could know. It had its pros and cons.

I did ask, but the doctor wasn't able to tell. Having said that, when my daughter was born, the midwife told us we had a boy. He was wrapped up and we named him and talked to our "wee man" and it was only after 10 minutes we found that she was a girl (with no deformaties). You know, the sex is something that you never check as you assume that an experienced midwife can get that right. My advice is to always check for yourself.
