No - you want to go see a movie, then go see it. The word is sacrilege - I do not think you would be committing sacrilege. But then I do not think god cares if we are watching movies on Christmas either, especially since this is the day people decided to celebrate the birth of Jesus. He was not born on Dec. 25th.

I really don't see how seeing this movie would be sacreligious. Is it because you're going to see a horror film on Christmas Day? What if you saw Happy Feet or Rocky Balboa on Christmas Day? Would that be sacreligious? No. So, if it is just because it is a horror film and it happens to be about Christmas, I think it's fine. Now, if the movie had a anti-christian content or theme to it, I would agree.

going to see a horror movie on christmas day is no different from seeing it on any other day. i know some christians who do not believe in watching horror films of any kind ever. so it just depends on what your beliefs are. if watching horror films is wrong, then God would think it is wrong no matter what day of the year it was.

With my beliefs I don't think you should see it. That is my opinion you need to look deep inside of yourself and really and truly think what is right.
Here's a suggestion!
Why don't you wait until after Christmas to see the movie like on New Year's Eve or some other holiday. Christmas is a time to be together and celebrate with your family. It should be a happy day and not bring any horror at all. It is a day that you should dedicate to the birth of Jesus, and a day to dedicate to your family and friends, after all IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

In my opinion it's not the best choice for a Christmas Day movie, but I don't think it's sacrilegious. I pray that God is more tolerant than that!
That said, by going you sent a message to filmmakers about what moviegoers want to see, and next year we might have a whole slew of horror films coming out around Christmas!

Well, if you're going with your boyfriend perhaps you should do something you'd both enjoy without offending each other. You can go to the cinema anytime... It's not supposed to be very good, so it might be an even bigger downer on Christmas day.

No I don't think it's sacreligious to go to a horror movie on Christmas Day, but I do think it SUCKS that people have to WORK in the movie theater on Christmas Day,just so you have somewhere to go once you're sick of spending time with your family. I also think it blows, convenience store clerks have to work on that day, too. You say you're religious, but you don't give one thought to the people who aren't home with family ONE day out of the year. Just so you can go to a stupid movie (which you'll probably end up hating anyway, for being a crappy movie).
I know doctors and police and fire and ambulance drivers also have to be on duty every day, regardless of holiday, but those are necessary, Blockbuster bragging about "being open 365 days a year" is NOT necessary and means I won't be applying for a job there.
Would it kill you to go to the movie on the 26th and spend the 25th with your family?

mm i think that would be like spitting in Gods face. He wants u to focus on the reason of the season which is Him! if u watch a gross movie on His birthday,i think that is rude to Him. i mean He did die for us and the least thing we could do is erspecy Him
