Think about it, Mitt Romney is the conservative Gov. of one of the most Liberal states in the US. It does not surprise me that some of his beliefs were moderated to attain that office.
I am more frankly conserned with the Immigration issue, and on that Romney shines.

The republican's need to go back under there rock, lick there wounds remember exactly why they were put into office in the first place. Remember there Conservative values and come back and dominate in '08. Till then hopefully the democrats won't make too much of a mess. Amnesty to illegals will be a catastrophe.

I would say ALL potential candidates attempt to adjust their stances in order to appease certain blocs of voters. Not just Republican, Democrats as well.

All politicians say what ever they have to to get elected. It is not always the way they actually view things in the out side world.
With a few exceptions, Al Gore I believe really is concerned with global warmings. But, most just say what they have to.

They all do it, so why target only GOP?
Al Gore was pro-2nd Amendment and pro-life before he decided to run for national office.
This is why I refer to all CongressCritters as "re-election whores".

I don't care if they pretend or not.
If a person runs who will try to end abortion, I will vote for them. I don't care if they SAY they are pro-abortion, I care about how they act.

Most people are pretending to be something they are not. Look at Dumbangelo's answer. He is obviously pretending to have a brain!
