First check if your speakers are plugged in. Next look in the lower right hand corner of your screen and see if the loud speaker icon has a red line through it. If it does, you've accidentally muted it. If it doesn't double click on it and see if you've just turned the sound down by mistake. There is a slider bar that you can use to adjust that. If that doesn't work, go to start/settings/control panel and click on sounds and multimedia, make sure you have sounds enabled. If none of these things work, check your hard ware settings to see if there is a problem with your sound card. Unless you are a techie, at this point you might want to call for help. Good luck!

It is possible that you have lost your drivers however that is not likely. First check your hardware in the system directory and see if the audio device is working properly. Make sure that you have a plus sighn by the hardware device as well. Don't rule out the possibility of you speaker system of being defective. The most likely problem is going to be the speaker power ac adapter.

Check in device manager and see if the sound device is functioning properly. Go to device manager and check the drivers.
The sound is usually the green hole so make sure the sound is plugged up to the right hole.
And check to see if thew speakers are on mute.

Many newer laptops have 'shortcut' keys on the front, which can be easy to press accidentally. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume tab, check if the 'Mute' box is checked. If it is, there's your problem. Uncheck it, and you'll be all set.

Perhaps your speakers came unplugged or try going to your control panel and finding "Sounds, Speech, and Audio devices" and then click on "Adjust the system volume." Perhaps it's set on low so you cannot hear anything. That happened to me yesterday.

Go to settings/control panel/system/device manager and delete the sound device and shut down. Reboot and you should get the message "new device found" see if windows can install it from the windows files. If it is not there you will have to download the driver and install it manually.

Plug your speakers in? If you using Windows, on the taskbar there are some icons. There should be one that looks like a speaker click on that and un-check "Mute" if it is already checked.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
