I cook a huge meal on Christmas Eve, with ham and all the fixings...then on Christmas day everything is much more relaxed and we munch on leftovers all day. Just make sure that what ever you cook, make lots and lots, that way you get a free pass from cooking for a few days, and that is a gift in itself after the hectic holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Christmas day is the one day I do not cook. My husband cooks Christmas Dinner every year. We invite our family over , we have been 20 - 25 people for dinner. we have turkey, ham , salt Beef ( it's a Newfie thing) potatoes, carrots, parsnip, cabbage, turnip, stuffing and gravy, I can't forget the cranberry sauce. Dessert is always a surprise my sisters usually do that but always a Lemon meringue pie for me! mmMMmm I am getting hungry

Usually we make ham with a mild mustard cream sauce on the side (old family recipe), along with scalloped potatoes, either green bean casserole or a veggie casserole with sour cream and Swiss cheese, plus usually some time of orange jello salad or fruit salad. I like to bake so I usually make some type of fancy dessert as well, last year we had cheesecake, this year I think a pumpkin pie. But this year we are having beef fondue for a change, along with fresh asparagus and mini quiches (appetizer size).

No. I never cook. When I lived at home with my dad, the cooking was outsourced. We hired a lady to cook our dinner Monday through Friday. We went to other family members for the family get togethers.
Now, I attend holiday get togethers and show up to eat. My boyfriend cooks the meals.

Nope, since we have a massive extended family, my parents my sibligns and my nieces and nephew gather at my parents on Christmas eve to do the present thing. Everyone has to get bcak on the road pretty quick so we usually do some kind of simple thing.
Maybe heat up tamales, or do a cheese and fruit tray with some wine. Then we all travel to other places on Christmas day to be with other family.

It's your own decision if you'll cook/eat dinner. Well, just cook simple and not so heavy foods since you're gonna eat again for the Christmas Celebration.

Christmas dinner at our house is very casual. We have a buffet, ham and potatoe salad. Rolls and lots of fixings to make ham sandwiches. The big thing around here is all my many homemade cookies and candies. If you come in the morning there's hot homemade breads and fresh coffee.

This is the most fun I have at Christmas...planning a menu, shopping for the items...setting a beautiful table. The standard, turkey with all the trimmings is best...but have lots of dips and appetizers throughout the day.
