Oh yeah. While they are out there beating each other up, and playing silly games, others of us are doing the real jobs, and getting paid next to nothing.

No, they aren't. While I might personally think anyone getting those sorts of salaries is ridiculous, if you think about it, in a free society they only get paid what the market is willing to bear.
If you truly believe they are overpaid, how much exactly should they get? And who decides on that number? You? Or is it better to let the pressure of the free market (ie the collected opinions of everyone) make that decision?
If no-one bought Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the manufacturer would keep lowering the price until either they started selling well enough to be profitable, or they went out of business. Why should the sports business be any different? If you think a particular team is overpaid, stop supporting them! If we all did that, they would soon have their budget under control.
Are you overpaid? Do you know anyone who thinks they are?

I think they are. But mainly in the field of baseball. When players go on strike because they are not getting paid what they think they are worth, which in most cases is grossly exaggerated, everybody gets mad. The players because " WE WANT MORE MONEY OR WE DON"T PLAY", the owners because they are losing money, and us fans, because they are getting paid for our entertainment. Every sport should be like football and have a salary cap. Did you know the New York Yankees are worth over 1 billion dollars? Isn't that a bit ridiculous? That's why they are so good. They can buy all their players. But every time they complain they get there way. PRO SPORTS PLAYERS ARE GETTING WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!

Yes They are over paid to a point that if weather(for the outdoors sports)cancel a home or away game they still make their millions where as us "American folks" might lose the value of a $80.00 game ticket.
They gets ssssssooooo much that it makes me sick to think that they use their money for drinking and/or drugs habit as where they could give some of their money to help people, like the homeless, poor, sick kids, or buy enough food to fill up a food bank.
Like I said "some" of their money(not all) so they will still have enough to give a good schooling for their little brats. And a fancy car for their b***ching wives.
Me? Bitter? Nnnnnnooooooooo ....... :-$

No they are not overpaid. They get paid what their market can afford to pay them. If you think they are overpaid, stop going to games, watching them on tv, buying their merchandise, and any other number of things that brings money into their sport. Then they won't get paid as much.

They pay rookies too much and old players get paid too little. Especially in football. Other way around in baseball and I have no clue about soccer payrolls.
