My mother is very sick and my poor Daddy is is having a lot of trouble with it.. I don't "put up with" them. I love them. And forgive me for preaching, but lately, I've come to realize just how badly some people take their parents for granted. Keep in mind, they raised you, they want the best for you, and they might not be here a year from now.

Parents or not, you disrespect me, you get no respect back. I tend to just ignore anyone who shows me any disrespect. Which I would never have to worry about with my dad cuz he's the man. My mom and I butt heads a lot but we keep it in check.

you know your parents are the ones who brought you into this world....and i feel sure if you set down and talk to them and tell them how you feel yall can work it out....to get respect you have to give respect....they are probably just trying to make you see something you have done they don't approve of and that's their way of telling you....it took me many years to learn this from my parents and god knows i wish they were still alive....and i have made the same mistakes with my boys but now they have figured out why i did it....and seen that it was for the best at times.

no. One time when I went to visit my bf who was grieving for his father I asked my mother to watch my son for the night. He lived an hour away. At 8 pm she called me to come rushing to get my son because she had picked up a few hours that night for work. I had to drive an hour back through a very bad storm to pick up my son. I was upset because she was treating me like I always had to jump through hoops for her. When i go there she told me that watching my son was her way of doing me a favor. I told her not to do me any favors no more and didn't allow her to see my son for over a year. She eventually came crawling back on her knees and today we have a great relationship. It took her 27 years to see me as an adult and to respect me.

If they are my parents....arrgh. Nope. I either tell them that they are being that way (then I get yelled at), or I just go to my room (and get yelled at.)

But either way, I don't really tolerate disrespect from other people. My parents and I get into a lot of fights about it, but we still are ok with each other.

Sooo....lol. No, I don't really put up with it!!!
