The word POTTING SHED: does it mean the same as SMALL GREENHOUSE? Or is it a shed for garden tools only? Or both? Dictionaries do not agree on the meaning and I really want to know it correctly. Thanks.

Just imagine that all Italian dictionaries where I looked the word up say that it's a shed for garden tools, without mentioning seedlings or small potted plants!!!! This is why I asked!

Apotting shed is just what it says.- Like a small shed with several shelves to grow seedlings and pot and repot at their various stages of growth until they are ready to plant outside. Usually darker than a green house to encourage germination of seedlings.

It's not a greenhouse.
It's a small shed to pot plants

In Maine they use old one holers for a tool shed and call them potty sheds :-)

Oeuf is right...although in Oz, we also use it to store our garden tools...hence, here at least...we use it for both....Merry Xmas from Downunder.
