In my family we were all about 2 years appart and it was nice. I have a 13 month old and am currently expecting again. My son will be 20 months old when his sister or brother is born and my husband and I feel that is a good age difference.

I would also talk to your OBGYN, I know there is a recommended time you should wait before concieving or giving birth again. I think it's like 9 months or 1 year, but I don't remember the exact timing my Obgyn told me.

For health reasons you should wait until the baby is 1 years old. Other than that it's a personal choice. I plan to wait until my daughter is 2 before we start trying for a second. She will be close to being potty trained or already when the baby would be born. They will be close in age but not too close and they won't be too far apart. This is just my preference.

ONLY you can answer that question for your self. Do you feel like you are up to another child now? are you up for another 9 months of pregnancy? did you lose some of the weight you gained from the first pregnancy?

Also how was your first pregnancy? did you have any morning sickness, drowsiness..etc will you be able to handle that while you have a baby to look after?

and also keep in mind that your baby has not started walking yet & when he/she does he/she will be needing you running around after him, will you be capable of doing that while you are pregnant?

Also take your doctors opinion & check the iron & calcium levels in your body before you get pregnant again.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

Ideally for your body and it's recovery is 2 years apart. I got pregnant by accident when I had a 7 month old, and it's been manageable, but difficult. My last pregnancy was really hard on me, I had no energy at all, and felt really horrible all the time, and now that they're 2 and 1, keeping up with two toddlers isn't easy. I would have preferred to wait until my other was 18 months or 2 years old.

Not until this one is at least a year old. Your body needs a full year to recover from your last pregnancy and birth. This gives you a better chance of having a healthy pregnancy with #2 and a full term birth. It also insures your current baby a longer breastfeeding relationship and a chance to "be the baby" for a while. Not to mention, the child you have now isn't even mobile. You have no true idea what you're really in for yet!

I think that is a personal decision. I have a 5 month old boy and a daughter who will be 5 years in February. I LOVE the age difference. We will not be paying for college at the same time and big sis is a big help. I really got to enjoy so much of her before having to manage two. I felt it was best for us to wait at least until the first one was out of diapers. I see alot of moms struggle with two little ones. My brother had twins and that was a bit much!!

First off you do it when you feel ready.. I just had my daughter in July and my son will be 5 in March... This is a very good age difference I think.. He was old enough to understand that he was getting a sister throughout the whole pregnancy and now he is the best big brother ever!!
