no smoking does not kill the germs.... the smoke causes you to take more germs into your respiratory system....i know this from experience and from my doctor...i cut back smoking as far as i can when i am sick...it also effects your sinuses and ears...so the best thing to do is cut back or if you are Strong willed enough quit all together...i don't have the will to quit.

Smoke only helps you to get sick and die. Never ever smoke. I have a cold. Buy some tissues, chicken noodle soup, and orange juice. Leave those nasty cigarettes in the store. Bless you.

Actually, it lowers your immune system which makes the cold not only last longer, but makes you more susceptible to them.
