Dear Mum
I hope this letter finds you well. But I'm not well. You know how much I hate to cook, but here I have to cook myself. I cant take food from McDonald's as its too greasy and you how fast I put on weight. Talking about weight, everyone here in the school calls me balloon, I don't understand why they are so rude. I'm having a lot of problems in my exercise classes also, they didn't take in in the cheer up team as well.
I always try to keep my room clean but its not always possible. I'm too tired when I return from school and have instant noddle and go to bed.
OK that's all

Dearest Mother,
How is everything with the family in London? I hope all is well. You must all be enjoying the season with all the hustle and bustle!
I am physically fine here at school so please don't worry. I know you wanted me to come home for the holidays, but I just can't right now. I simply have to stay and devote all my time to my studies or risk failing in several classes when they start again. I know you and father would be so disappointed in me should that happen, so I am determined to understand this material no matter what it takes to do so!
There are about 25 of us that have stayed here for the break. Thankfully there are several in my class so we can work together as a group. There is one girl, Kerry, who seems to dislike me for some reason, but I think I can work around her. At least I hope to do that with the help of my friend Bethany. Anyway, she hasn't really said anything bad to me, it's just that she always looks at me as if I were some kind of loathsome bug or a piece of gum stuck to her perfect shoes! What would you do mother? Bethany says just to ignore her.
Speaking of Bethany... I just have no idea what to give her for a gift. She's been so nice to me and really helpful with my questions on several subjects we have together. I can tell by her clothes that her parents aren't that well off. I've never looked down on her for it either. I would like to get her something nice like a wool sweater or some new boots, but I don't want her to feel insulted. I haven't even used last month's allowance yet, so I have enough to get her a wonderful gift! Do you think you could pick me up something from Harrod's and send it round to me? We are about the same size so that shouldn't be a problem.
Please don't tell father, but there is a boy who comes around to make deliveries and I think he's so cute! I'm not sure how old he is, but I don't think he's too much older than me. I was coming around the west corner of the school building one day by the delivery entrance and almost ran right into him! He has the most wonderful smile. I know I turned all pink when I muttered, "excuse me", and hurried off. Since then I've managed to be in the area when he has made deliveries, (Jackie who works in the office has been bribed to tell me with a box of her favorite chocolates when he is due for a dellivery!), and he has said hello to me both times. Do you think it might be love?
Well, Bethany is coming by to study in a few minutes, so this will have to do for now. Give my love to everyone and tell them I wish I could be there!
Your loving daughter,
