Research! Think of what your book is going to be about and if you are not an absolute expert on the subject you better do your research. Readers are very intelligent people, you can't forget that, because they will know if you are b.s.ing your way through it.

Homework: Consider buying a book like "How to Write & Sell Your First Novel"
Step 1: Decide what you what you write about.
Step 2: Come up with your main characters, their names, personalities and impact on the story.
Step 3: Outline your entire story from beginning to end - basically summarizing what is going to happen and how it is going to conclude.
Step 4: Write the book.
Step 5: Publish the book.

I would suggest writing about something that you are interested in. When you decide on a topic just start writing. You can always go back and make changes after. A book publisher may want to see at least a couple of chapters before they decide to publish your book.

Just start writing. No research required unless you're writing a historical book or need to create a fictional universe. Write a few pages everyday and you'll have a novel. I never use outlines, but that wouldn't hurt for your first attempt.

First, you need to plan what it's going to be about, plot details, etc. Then, you need to start developing a few characters for it. I don't really believe in planning, because I just write off the top of my head. I love writing stories too and I simply write whatever comes into my head whenever it comes to my head, and the words just flow out on to the page. What kind of stories do you write? Fiction, or things that you've experienced in your life?

Don't struggle to get ideas, just wait for a fresh idea to come into your head, and once it does, open a blank document and just start writing.

Good luck!

With no offense at all, it's as much a discipline as it has to be a passion.
I've been doing it for approx 57 years.

My beginnings were through journals, begun at the age when I learned how to write, then as reference material. Certainly NON fiction can be as valid, but it's not strictly my style.

Imagination has to be involved, and in developing something 200 plus pages long, you'll need to keep reinventing and keep nudging your imagination.

I'll assume you at least have an "idea" as well as mental or written notes in developing the "book" from cover to cover. I'll also assume your motive, at least initially, is not in seeking profit.

Without question you should likely have a command of the language, especially as it relates to words that need not be repeated a hundred times in one chapter to get even the most narrow point across.

IE: The water was wet/// The Sun was hot/// are two examples of phrases best left unrecorded. Another example of what not to do in written text but most obvious in our culture today, is statements like this, spoken I grant you, but born in a mind unable to articulate verbally.

"I Like went to the mall and like didn't have my wallet, so Like I had to like call my Mom, and like ask her to like drive here to like bring me some money."

Grammer and spelling are equally important, but I suspect our current techologies allow for "Dummys" (no offense) to craft volumes.

attempt transforming into a depiction - consistent with possibility financial disaster via financial disaster. or consistent with possibility if there's a timeline, set it up like a tree - the trunk is the passing time, and the branches are the strikes via the characters. a number of those strikes overlap, how does that interplay take place - then write approximately it. in basic terms a thought.
