I am looking for a palace which was shown in a program on BBC lifestyle about a month or two ago which was located in the town called Shekhawati in Rajasthan,India.
It said it was for sale. So if anyone has any idea or info about it please provide me with it.

First there is no town called Shekhawati. It is area which is combination of three district of Rajasthan - Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu which is called Shekhawati (after name of ruler Shekha). However to distinguish same name town from two different region sometime they add Shekhawati to the town's name like Fatehpur Shekhawati which Fatehpur town in Jhunjhunu district.

Now Haveli (Haveli is not Palace - it is smaller than Palace) - Nearly all the towns of Shekhawati are having Havelis and in return of good price many can be available. However difficulty is that owner of these Havelis are mostly traders who have now settled in other towns like Kolkata, Mumbai etc. and only some caretaker are there at Haveli. Generally these care taker are nearly in control of these haveli so they do not like some one else to purchase these havelis.

However if you want to purchase some haveli then you may like to contact some locals in one of the town and start negotiations.

Just curious - Are you Indian or not because if you are not Indian then you can not purchase property in India directly however if you are Indian or Non Resident Indian then you can purchase it.

India - lush place - a pity the Elephants are always on the Rampage.. and since the Americans announced their support - the prices have shot up..by about 200% .. Last year when I was started looking you could get a nice Villa with Pool for £40K - Now your talking Spanish prices ... another case of rip off Johnny Foreigner..as a call centre worker only earns a few K a year over there. There is loads of sites - here is the one I look at.
