try going to your local food bank...a lot of them give gifts. explain your situation and maybe they can help. Do you have family that can help you out? Do you attend church? even if you don't some will help you out...if one cant go to another.

if all else false go to the dollar store...your kids have to understand that Christmas is not about getting gifts, its about being thankful. Be thankful that you have a roof over your head, food in your belly and a pillow for your head.

This will hurt you more then it will your kids...

Your kids are old enough to get to it and earn a Christmas. My dad got sick when I was 12 and we lost everything while he was in the hospital for months. My siblings and I did whatever we could to earn money to provide a Christmas for my two youngest sisters who were 6 and 4 at the time. That was the best Christmas ever...we still had dad, and we felt proud of ourselves that we were able to make the best of things and my sisters had no clue how close they were to having nothing. Have your kids go around the neighborhood offering to rake leaves, shovel snow, babysit, clean out a garage, etc. If they are thrifty, they can make a little money go a long way on Christmas day.

your grandson is too young to know and your kids are old enough to pitch in to make the holidays bright.

Play games together, make crafts and food together, sing carols together, make a huge construction paper chain together. Make a big outing of going to see christmas light displays. Go as a family and volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen.

So sorry about the layoff. Hugs to you all.

The "miracle" is to realize what you have and not what you want. When you become thankful of all that you DO have, other things pale in comparison. Remember the old adage:
"I used to feel sorry for myself for not having shoes until I met a man who had no feet"

God Bless.

YOU ARE WRONG ON TWO OR MORE ACCOUNTS:

1) TOYS FOR TOTS IS RUN BY THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.

2) IT SHOULD BE "HOLIDAY MIRACLE" NOT "CHRIST"+"mas"
