Rhodium electroplating is almost always done over a nickel-plated or nickel over copper plated base. The Rhodium bath salts eventually can get contaminated as well as depleted.

Exhausted Rhodium solution can often be concentrated by evaporation, but this resulting solution is not nearly as good as a fresh bath.
