A perfect vacation doesnt have to be in the best cities in the world. It can be at the comfort of your own house.
I am a Filipino American. Last year, I took an examination in San Francisco. I had my first Christmas away from home. I was crying. I didnt know that would be the last Christmas of my daddy. I had been studying and working all my life. After my daddy died last June. I didnt go back to the US at once. I am staying with my mommy and sister. I am not working at present but spending quality time with them. I had finished 3 courses, it will be useless not to be with them during the time they needed me most.

Somewhere warm with a beach, but also some interesting sights to see, maybe museums, public gardens, shopping, or just somewhere nice to walk outdoors. Good places to eat too, and a comfortable place to sleep at night.
You can also just stay home, make sure you have your fridge well stocked with things you like to eat, and make sure your place is clean first - that will save you from feeling like you should be working instead of relaxing. Get some good movies, books and music, maybe some good games, and also plan some activities outdoors or somewhere to go out, so you don't get bored.
