For Hard Disks it depends on what type :


- Regular IDE drives have a 40 pin connector
- SCSI drives may have 50, 68, or 80 pin connectors (which integrate power as well as data)
- Serial ATA drives a 7 pin connector

Floppy drives have a 34 pin connection.
