For some reason I believe if Reggie Bush had been selected we would be talking about the Texans' chance at the play-offs, but oh well! It seems to me that the front office has made some poor decisions in personnel and David Carr is becoming the scape goat. If I was Carr I would try to opt out of my contract, go to a proven team and try to rejuvenate my career there. As the first answer said, he is officially damaged goods no matter what he does. The Texans need a better owner, like Jerry Jones who puts alot of thought into the draft and knows about business decisions and marketing value. Any Mario Williams jersey's? Houston We Have A Problem! "With the first pick in the 2007 draft, the Houston Texans select.......(Troy Smith, Quarterback The Ohio State University), slim pickins in this years draft! Sorry Houston! You had Vince in your laps last year! D'oh!

1. Reggie Bush would not have made the Texans a contender. They would not be as bad as they are, but they would not be in the playoff race either.
2. Mario Williams was not a bad pick. Dont get me wrong, it was the wrong pick for the Texans, but he will be a great player someday.
3. David Carr is a really good quarterback. But how can anyone expect a QB to do any good for their team if they put such a god-awful offensive line in front of him? Even Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would struggle to do anything behind that line. I believe that if you give Carr a decent line, he will become one of the star QB's in the NFL. Sadly, though, I dont think that will ever happen.

I think it is a mixture of both. The O-Line has never protected him properly since he became the starter. He has all the physical tools, however mentally he is shot. The Texans will probably have to cut him and take the cap hit. He will undoubtedly be picked up by another team as a back up. If he fails a 2nd time that will be it.

I think he's broken personally. He hasn't had a pocket in so long, he assumes he's going to get hit in seconds and gets rid of it ASAP, regardless of whether or not that's a good decision. Carr, though he appeared promising himself, was ruined by absolutely terrible circumstance, and there's really nothing left but to put him out of his misery(i.e. cut him) and reminiscience on what almost was and what could've been...

Everybody associated with the Texans is a loser like Murdock, that's way Destiny intervened and Bush went to NO.

You have to have an offensive line or you are on your back more than throwing a football.

Even if it was the team, he's damaged goods now. I consider him Jake Plummer re-incarnated.
