Is there anyone with experience with federal student loans in default?

What have they done as recourse? Please I need experience here, not the standard "this is what they'll do to you " thing.

I have been throught this. It's not fun. They can sieze your tax refunds. They can garnish your wages up to 10%. It's not fun to deal with but do it anyway. You'll be glad you did. Call them and make a deal. They are in the driver's seat. But almost all of the time the repayment plans are manageable.
