I feel that it is like someone who is afraid of the dark. Once you see that there is nothing there to hurt you, you accept it openly. But before hand, the dark is a scary and forbidden place filled with monsters.
Homosexuality is the same thing. A lot of people are afraid of homosexuals for unknown reasons. They just desire to have relations with those of their own biological sex. Just because a person is a homosexual, does not mean that you have something to fear. If a homosexual person puts the moves on you and you are not interested, just say no thank you. but a lot of people fail to realize that.
I am hetero, but I have many friends that are homosexual and you know what? Their sexual preference was never a factor nor has any of them ever made any moves on me.
Society needs to learn this.

That's actually not what the Bible says, but be that as it may.
In the early years of the USA we had slaves of all sorts of colors and backgrounds. At the time we wondered why we could not understand them. The slaves were the ones that were different. But if we put things into perspective, say from that homosexuals or even a slaves point of view, then the slaves would probably say "You don't understand us because you never tried. It was you that brought us here, it was not by our own choice." With exception that gays were actually genetically born to be who they are the same is true now with gays. The only difference is that we weren't brought into this by force. The biggest reason people don't understand gays is because they don't want to. Maybe just maybe if we were all open minded and tried things that we did not understand just once they we would all be open minded and understand.

Yes I understand what you are saying , people have evolved but not enough yet to not fear the unknown, if they would just get to know people for who they are and not who they sleep with, things would be so much better. I have tons of gay friends, mostly male and they are the best friends you could have....they are people just like us, more creative, which I just love cause I'm not, and possess a great sense of humor which is great, even though they have to put up with alot....which I think is very unfair, just because you don't understand someone don't fear them, embrace it....we are all flesh and blood but we are also diverse which is what makes the world more interesting....so I say be true to yourself and love you and others without judgment, for we are not here, or do we have the right , to judge. Hope this helps you at least see that not everybody is against diversity.

I don't know. I'm not homosexual, but I don't have a problem with homosexuality. Unfortunately the Bible says that same sex relationships are wrong (Leviathans...its in there...) not just sodomy.
But I agree, you should be allowed to be with whoever you like. I guess people always fear what they don't understand? Perhaps they're somehow not secure within themselves, or are afraid that by showing tolerance for homosexuality it will somehow 'spread' it; or else position them as against God?

I agree. People in today's society need to understand that this isn't the 1800's anymore and that if you love someone of the same gender, then that is alright. My father is gay and I am not bias or anything to other men and women who are homosexual. I'm bisexual myself and I see nothing wrong with it. I went to a catholic school almost my whole life and I have always been told that "homosexuality is wrong. God will send you to hell if you're a homo" and I don't believe it. If god truly loves us and had already planned for the person to be this way, why would he punish them and send them to hell for all of eternity and eternal damnation? That would mean he/she is wasting a life and his/her efforts of creating a new human being.

I guess it is because they think it's not normal but it really is.
I'm straight but I'm fine with people who are gay. If to people love each other then that's between them. No matter what sex they are. I seen on the news channel once that they said that there was an experiment done with animals to prove homosexuality was normal. And guess what it is. Dogs, cats, giraffes, and other animals tend to be gay. So it's a normal thing. I think that people should just mind their own business.

Well, My thought is: That people can't get passed the SEX portion of it, (which is really such a small part of any ones life)
Yet, it seems to be the big thing that people focus on.
As far as what the "Book" says, it also says you must stone your disobedient children at the gates of the city.

People don't have a hard time understanding homosexuality, they are afraid and refuse to accept it. My question to you is why have some of the highest-ranked religious anti-gay leaders in the last few years been caught with their pants down?

Mrs. Belcher forgets that some have both a penis and a vagina so what happens to them. See the problem is everyone wants to categorize everyone so that can make a list of things for or against a particular group. it starts with our parents and if our parents are intolerant we usually grow up that way. I fortunately had tolerant grandparents and now they are the only ones I really talk to.
