I am American, from a suburb of Washington, DC.
I am proud to be an American. I love what America stands for in our Declaration and Constitution. I think that the freedoms we enjoy here are the best in the world.
I have traveled to Russia, Poland, Hungary, Canada, Mexico and England. From speaking to people (business people in the hospitality industry and students in Universities) in those countries, I get the impression that the people think that the systems in the former Soviet countries still need some work, and that the people in Mexico envy people who can come live in the US. People in Canada and England seem to enjoy similar freedoms as we do here.
This is just my personal opinion, and based on my observations and conversations with people in those various countries.

America, for all its flaws, is still the best country in the world. No where else do people have the freedoms and opportunities that are available here to everyone. Why else are so many people struggling to get here any way they can?

I love my country and the belief my country was founded upon, freedom. The government, I feel, is corrupt and seriously overstepping its boundaries given to it by our Constitution. As for freedom we probably have more freedom than other countries. But, that is bieng slowly eroded with passage of the Patriot Act, Real Id Act, and Military Commissions Act of 2006. I feel they are using terrorism as an exuse to erode our God-given rights given to us by our Bill of Rights. I am from America.

I'm an American. I think our govt is headed by a lying, thieving, mass murdering, torturing gangster who is draining our treasury and dishonoring our great legacy.
Our freedom is at great risk, not just from the govt, but from our fellow citizens who act more like good soviet subjects than free people. We have free speech zones, many many people have been arrested for insulting bush, our mass media is owned by 4 very rich, very republican guys who fill our airwaves with stories of anti-semetic Mel while ignoring Israel's actions in Gaza.
My precious precious father died this year, shortly after telling me that he would not live to see his country get back on track. It saddened him horribly, after giving nearly 50 years to the U.S. Navy as a sailor and contractor, to see what the bush crime family has done to us - and far worse, what so many Americans put up with.
It's also worth mentioning that only in the USA, alone among all industrialized countries, can a person lose everything because they needed medical care. How free are you when you can't even raise your own infant because you can't get health insurance?

U.S.A. My country is the best in the world. My form of government is the best in the world.
My political leaders are gutless weenies that need replaced with real Americans who aren't afraid to be "politically incorrect".
Political correctness is killing my country.
