I'm talking about service businesses...I mean if you know someone is going to start crap about your business no matter how you do it, why don't you have the rights to deny it?

Excuse me for my mistakes then =) because the last I've heard was that you couldn't. Thanks for the input. First one to give me a good answer gets the best answer.

Any business in the US has the right to deny services/products to any individual/business, as long as it is not being discriminatory.
You cannot deny services or products based on race/sex/religion/age/etc.

You do have the right to deny service. Look up a newstory that was out about 5 months ago, a chinese buffett told a family they could not eat there anymore because they were so wasteful, taking plate after plate of food and not eating it, just leaving it for the waitress to throw out and getting even more. After 3 visits from this family all the same story the management told them they were barred from eating there. They tried to make a stink and sue and were told he could do whatever he wanted, it was his place. If he had said you can't eat here because you're black it would be a different scenerio, that's discrimination.

Being a bad customer can get you the door.

Unless you're a public service utility paid for with tax money, you do have the right to refuse service to anyone. You don't lose your free will just because you're in business for yourself.

You do have the right to deny service to *******.
As long as it's not based on race, religion, genger and the possible slew of others that pops up.
Your safety and mental state comes first.

If you're the owner of the establishment, your rights are slightly different from an employee. If the boss says, "serve them", you do it. If you're the owner, you have the right to ask them to leave and possibly not return. You still have to be as civil as possible even if the harrasser isn't. That can sometimes be hard.

Business does have the right to refuse service to anyone. I think you do need to have a sign posted in plain sight though to be safe. look iside a Mc Donald's or any restuarant and you will see a sign that reads 'We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone'. Buy one and post it in your business.
