Yes - its also a great source of virus's, trojans, and other nasties. You could end up with loads of free music - and a completely screwed PC.

I'm not sure about the legality but I used to download music from Lime Wire and got a virus on my computer. It cost me a lot of money to fix what it did and I would suggest you may want to weigh the risk before downloading ANY a pear to pear sharing files.

I agree with "Dr Sixpack," having experienced it first hand. My son 'joined' and downloaded the software. What a nightmare. I have everything fixed, but my firewall, and anti-virus software blocked a bunch of stuff from there.
If you've installed it, delete it now. Then go through your computer and delete the hidden files from this download. "Free" is not worth the cost of a new computer.

that depends where you live, i live in Canada and as far as i know its not illegal to download as long as its for your own personal use with no intention of making profit for the movies/music but it is illegal to then upload things to other people.

yea... if you get caught...if your gonna dowload do it from a lab top...they can't track you easily if your not connected by a phone cord
