The only time I go to straight clubs anymore is for 80s night... any other time it's just not worth it. It's so much more free at a gay club and you have so much more fun. Plus everyone is a whole hell of a lot nicer... you have something in common with everyone there so essentially it's like you're friends with everyone there.

What a silly question? Is there a written rule saying that only straight people can go into a straight club? NOPE! It's like a gay club. Is there a rule that only gay people are aloud? The first question to consider when making this type of decision is how are we going to really prove who the straight ones are and who the gay ones are. Can you look at a person and positively know which is which with 100% certainty? I think not. Therefore, who really cares?

The research is still being compiled.. but I'd say 45% depending if the town they live in has a gay bar and if they don't care if they are seen going in to a gay bar.
My gay friends just go to a straight club in groups of 20 or more and "take it over"

Lots in towns that don't have a gay, or many gay, bars to choose from. The only gay bar in my town sucks! So my girlfriend and I usually go to the straight club that plays the good music and has th less expensive drinks.

This would depend on The Club and The City or Town.
The main reason for going to a "Gay club" is more for socializing
with similar people and chance to make a connection.
But Gay people are PEOPLE and like the same things and places straight people do. (within reason)
Most of us can blend easily.

I do, with my straight mates. I am always careful though and tend to stay "reasonably" sober so I don't do anything that could get me in a whole lot o trouble as I have see some of my gay mates have done.
A night out ending up with gay bashing isn't a good night out really

Don't know if there are any published surveys for your question
Personaly as a gay man, my partner and I use our local pub 90% of the time and rarely go to exclusively gay venues.
