The "black body" is a object that absorbs energy (reflects no light) and puts off energy (light) by increasing the temperature of the object. "cool" is not a type of energy, that is actually a lack there of since heat is low frequency wave of energy. The reason your rock was cold and warm during different seasons, is because the density of the rock is a lot more dense then the air, or your body. The more dense an object is, the harder it changes temperature in a given enviroment. This difference in temperature change happens everyday on the coast's of beaches. That's why on a warm day, when night comes around, it'll be cold. That's because the ocean water is less dense than land. The water cools off faster than the land, causing a cool breeze. The rock was just cold, and would take a while ( a long while) to adjust to the surrounding temperature. Same with warm temperatures.
