Start drinking Chinese Green Tea regularly and you will NEVER ever have a cold again. Guaranteed. I have done it myself and have not had one for 9 years. Google it and you will be convinced.

Well, bed rest is basically the best medicine. And having alot of cold medicine by you is key to getting better. I think soup is good too but I'm guessing you don't like soup. Just relax and take it easy.

There is NO actual 'cure' for colds. Just medicines that supress the symptoms for a while. To prevent the occasional cold, drink the PURE juice of two lemons and four oranges in one glass everyday.

there isn't any way you are going to get rid of the cold- it will have to run its course.
you might find some relief in trying:
orange juice
garlic
zinc lozengers
chicken soup (what is wrong with soups they are among the best relievers?)
cherry cough drops
mint tea
dill tea
jalapeno (or other) peppers
V8 juice (hot)
lemon
whiskey
hot coffee

Use a hot vaporizer, Vick vapor rub, and lots of fluid and Vitamin C.

Soups really do help to keep you hydrated and the heat soothes your throat.

take vitamins...vitamin c, zinc....use vics vapor rub on your chest...it helps relieve congestion. put it on at night when you go to bed. alot of the colds now are viral...so no otc meds will help anyway...just have to let it run it's coarse.
