Oh........but I will have. I mean...... my kids MAKE Christmas. I don't have to get gifts. I mean I know that we all say that..... and I know that we say its about giving not receiving...... and I know this is about celebrating the birth of our savior.... but seriously..... look at the holiday. It's about kids!!! It's for kids.... And just watching their reactions PRIOR to the day...... watching the excitement build. Watching the fun they have just THINKING about Christmas...........gosh I mean all those things we say...... well its true!! Christmas really is for the kids!! And watching them is exactly what I wanted!!! (ok that didn't sound pervy did it? Wasn't meant to.... get your mind outta the gutter)

Be thankful for getting something.
I just talked to someone the other day that said that when she was a kid, they didnt open presents. They were to poor to buy presents.

Thats pretty sad.

Christmas isnt about getting presents, Christmas is a special day where friends and families can come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Although is is nice to open presents on Christmas,
I KNOW WHAT IM GETTING!
LOL!
Im getting an IPOD NANO!!!!!

Most likely I'll like any gift I get, because it really is the thought that counts. I know certain people(my mother for example) who won't get me the greatest gifts, but I'll be thankful to get any at all because gifts of the kind we get today aren't what Christmas is all about anyway. The best gift I ever got for Christmas was a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, many years ago, and there's nothing that can top that ;)

You should be thankful regardless. Like the old saying goes, it is the thought that counts. Be grateful that you have friends and family that cared enough about you to give you anything. Also, be thankful that you have food to eat, a roof over your head, and warm clothing. As other answers stated, if you want something that badly, go and buy it yourself. People are not mindreaders. If you are young, it is hard to realize this. I guess for some people it takes a level of maturity and for you to experience hard times in order for you to be thankful.

In order for that to happen, other unlikely events would have to occur. If I didn't get what I wanted, that would necessitate that I would not be as close to my family as I am. If I were not close to them then the would either not care or perhaps care but be without a clue as to what to get me and then the problem you suggest might become a possibility. I am happy to report that, upon maintaining a close bond with my family, it is highly unlikey this will happen.

thank the people who got me gifts anyways and if it was something I really wanted that bad then I just buy it myself a few days later. I usually get some money for Christmas anyways and thats what its for. but usually there are only 1 or 2 things I really want anyways so I usually get them.

plan on buying certain things I wanted. there are a few things I'd really like but will wait until after Christmas because one never knows what one will get. better to wait and see rather than purchase now and face " gift return day. "

I will say thank you and then go out and buy what i really wanted. But this won't happen because my family asks me what i need and they go buy it. The bad part is i'm never suprised. This year my mom wrote me a $100 check i can't exactly say i'm not happy with my gift and my bf bought me a diamond ring which he gave me last week.

I'd definately act suprised and say something like 'wow thank you it's great!' and then either stuff in the back of a drawer and never use it or I'd sell it on eBay!
