I AM A BIG BIG JETS FAN and to actually tell you that the Jets can win the AFC East. IF the Pats lose both games and Jets win both. This is what will happend
1. First which team won the series: IT was tied.
2. If the series is tied Then they go to the Divison Record the Jets would be 6 and 4 and so would the pats
3. if the divison record is still tied :THe Conference: The Jets would have 7-5 record and the Pats would have a 6-6 record

Making The Jets the AFC East CHAMPS!!

It's a long shot Pats lose 2 Jets win 2. But anything can happpend.

LETS GO JETS

IFF the Pats and J-E-T-S end up w/ identical 10-6 records, the Jets take the AFC East title by virtue of a better conference record.

1st tiebreaker: H2H - Pats, Jets split season series
2nd: Division opponents - Pats, Jets both 4-2
3rd: Conf opponents - Jets 7-5, Pats 6-6

it then goes to the first tie breaker, which is head to head competition. they split their two games this year; i forget the final scores of both games, but the next tie breaker, is; margin of victory, or, in other words, which team won by the largest margin.
say, each team won their game by three points; the next tie breaker is division record. the jets have 1 division opponent left on Christmas night, in miami. miami has been resurgent in the latter part of the season.
finally, you have to factor in the 'jets curse', or the annoying tendency they have to win the games they're suppossed to lose, and losing the games they're supposed to win. i've been a jets fan since their debut at the polo grounds, in new york, in 1960, so i'm not basing on them.
finally, they cannot possibly win the afc title by virtue of their last two games. the chargers or the colts will do that. however, they could back into the afc east title, as they did in 2003, by virtue of a crushing defeat handed to the packers in the last game of the season.
hope that helps

The AFC is tough, I don't think they would go very far in the playoffs.
